A New Start

Have you ever wanted to change your name, leave your old life behind and start again in a small town in the middle of nowhere? Me too. And while I haven't quite done that, this is the blogging version of that. A new blog.
I'm not a new blogger. I've been blogging in one form or another for over 25 years. But I needed a clean slate. My friends list was full of dead journals, people I'd forgotten, so much history and drama. It was very too much. And the thought of cleaning through and curating it seemed far too daunting.
So I did the next best thing, and I'm starting again. A new journal. And I'm filled with excitement to start using it, to start meeting active users, to have a fun reading page again. It's like back-to-school or a new year, randomly a third of the way through December.
Like a lot of people, I have struggled with my mental health through and since the COVID-19 pandemic but I am feeling like I'm coming back out of the other side. There's a light in the distance that isn't a locomotive. And I think my plan for 2023 is to fall back in love with fandom. To love things for the sake of loving them.
Hi. Welcome to my new journal. I'm Colt and my pronouns are hey/they. I'm 47, married to Blaze and we have two children, Blair who's1213 and Eliot who's 10. I tend to describe myself as 'just another fandom whore' and love Supernatural, Leverage, The Librarians, Marvel, DC, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars, Stargate etc. And pretty much anything with Mario in it. I love to cook, I love visiting museums and historical sites. I nearly always have music playing, my nose in a book or my switch - and sometimes all three at once!
